SOURCE OF COMPETENCIES

The Career and College Pathway mathematics content standards/competencies identify the mathematics skills required for success in a Career or entry-level post secondary courses. The competencies were adopted from ACT, having been identified through research conducted by ACT, the organization that conducts the ACT college readiness exams.

ASSESSMENT OF COMPETENCIES


Attainment of the Learning Outcomes in the Academic Core can be assessed using any of the Indicators for College Readiness in the College and Career Readiness Rubric included in the A-F School Accountability Plan as adopted by the State Board April 24, 2017, with the exception of the “Completes the FAFSA”.  The Indicator, or combination of College Ready Indicators, must achieve a value of 1.0.   If the College Readiness Indicators adopted on April 24, 2017 are later modified those modifications will become the menu of assessment options for determining College Readiness under this Rule.   In addition, Learning Outcomes can be measured by ACT WorkKeys or Az MERIT. Students will be required to score 80% or better on the Level 5 and lower WorkKeys Applied Mathematics competencies.
